The 2000 Playoffs came to a resounding end on Monday night, as HAPPY HOUR defeated the 2-time champion 25 Club by a final score of 13-2. Happy Hour received a complete game 6-innning NO-HITTER from Tom Maahs and 4-RBI's from Jay Binkowski, as they became the 1st "CHAMPIONS" of the of the new millenium.
Playoff RecapThe 2000 Playoff season kicked of on Saturday with a bang, as the the 6-seed Sub Shoppe knocked off the 3-seed Inglesby 9 to 2. The 2nd game had the 5-seed Lions Club up-ending the 4-seed Charlie Browns by a 12 to 2 score.
On Sunday, the 25 Club advanced with a tight 4-2 victory over the Lions Club.
Monday provided the biggest upset so far, as the Sub Shoppe defeated Happy Hour 8-5, scoring 7 runs in the 6th inning.
Sub Shoppe advances to play the 25 Club on Friday at 8:00.
On Wednesday evening, Charlie Brown's advanced with an exciting come from behind 12-11 victory over the Lion's Club. The loss ends the season for the Lions.
On Thursday, Charlie Brown's ended the season for Inglesby with a tight 7-4 victory.
Charlie Brown's played Happy Hour on Friday and it was all Happy Hour, as they eliminated CB's 17-to-3. Happy Hour advances to play Sub Shoppe on Saturday evening at 7:00 pm.
Sub Shoppe lost a heart breaker by the final score of 10-to-9 to the 25 Club. The 25 Club will face the winner of the Sub Shoppe - Happy Hour game for the league Championship beginning Sunday evening.
On Saturday evening, Happy Hour moved on to face the 25 Club for the Championship, as they defeated the Sub Shoppe 11-to-3.
On Sunday evening, Happy Hour pounded out a 21-to-5 victory over a shorthanded 25 Club, to force a deciding game on Monday night at 7:00pm. The winner on Monday night goes home as the first Champions of the new millenium.
